A pesar de que el crecimiento de esta tecnología no es espectacular, es cierto que en Brocade dominan este mercado con solvencia. Buena prueba de ello es el acuerdo al que llegaron con Microsoft el pasado mes de mayo para ofrecer soporte integral de conectividad fabric para Windows Server , por lo que introdujo mejoras en su gama de switches SAN y Ethernet Fabric.
Siguiendo esta línea, la firma ha presentado el que será su producto estrella en los próximos meses. Se trata del switch VDX8770. Además la multinacional ha anunciado un conjunto de mejoras en la tecnología VCSFabric, con la que pretenden que llevar la simplicidad, la eficiencia y la flexibilidad de las redes de centros de datos a un nuevo nivel.
En lo que se refiere al nuevo router, el VDX 8770 ha sido diseñado tanto para las empresas como para los proveedores de servicios que necesitan simplificar y expandir su infraestructura de centros de datos, para acelerar la introducción de nuevos servicios e impulsar la innovación, al tiempo que reducen los costes.
Con más de 700 clientes que han ya instalado switches VDX de Brocade, la compañía continúa ampliando su cartera de switches VCS Fabric con la incorporación del switch modular Brocade VDX 8770. El nuevo producto de la familia VDX ha sido diseñado para los centros de datos más grandes, ofreciendo una sencillez y una automatización sin precedentes, junto con una gran escalabilidad y rendimiento y una gran protección de la inversión.
Simplicidad ante todo
Tal y como ha asegurado durante la conferencia Ken Cheng, VP de proveedores de servicio y aplicaciones, «lo mas importante para nosotros y nuestros clientes es la simplicidad. Por eso nuestro objetivo es que nuestros clientes puedan ofrecer servicios de una forma instantánea y de forma sencilla». Por este motivo, Brocade VDX 8770 y la tecnología VCS Fabric permiten contar con una red de centro de datos simplificada al máximo. Diseñados específicamente para entornos altamente virtualizados, las fabrics Ethernet fabrics basadas en tecnología VCS Fabric aceleran la implantación de aplicaciones y permiten migraciones más rápidas de máquinas virtuales (VM) a través del descubrimiento de VM “zero-touch”, movilidad de VM y migración de la configuración de puertos de VM. Usando fabrics basadas en VCS Fabric, los clientes pueden gestionar decenas de switches como un único dispositivo lógico, reduciendo drásticamente los costes operativos. También pueden ahorrar tiempo de instalación dado que los nuevos switches se auto-configuran cuando están conectados a la fabric.
